Your Questions, Answered: Our Facilities

Glynn Barton offers a wide range of on-site facilities designed to keep everyone entertained, whatever the weather. From indoor and outdoor play spaces to thoughtful “boredom breakers” for rainy days, there’s always something to do and explore. In this guide, we’ll answer the most frequently asked questions about our facilities so you know exactly what to expect during your stay.

What facilities are included in a stay at Glynn Barton?

We offer a great range of facilities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, whether you’re staying in a cottage or one of the glamping lodges. Guests can enjoy an indoor heated swimming pool, an indoor soft play area, large outdoor play spaces and plenty of open countryside to explore across the 13 acres of woodland. There are also opportunities to interact with animals on site, making it especially popular with families. View all our facilities here.

Are all activities included or do some need to be booked?

All activities are included for all guests, with the exception of our Young Farmers Club, which runs during the school holidays and requires booking during your stay at a price of £10 per child. If you would like a private family experience with our animals these are available on request and subject to availability. These are charged at £40 for a 30min session.

Is the swimming pool available year-round?

Yes, it’s heated to the perfect temperature with hot tub access to let you splash about year-round, and is filled with toys and floaties for maximum fun! Whether you’re starting the day with a dip or taking a well-earned soak after a hard day’s exploring, our heated pool is ready and waiting for you to jump right in. It’s open from 8am-10pm.

Are the animals accessible every day?

Yes, the animals at Glynn Barton are accessible daily for guests, offering regular opportunities to interact with them. The Mini Farmers Club is available 5 days a week without needing to book, allowing children to feed and interact with our friendly donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, pigs, and chickens!

Is there food or a shop on site?

Yes, we have an on-site shop filled with everything you need to enjoy some of the best local produce and food. We have a delivery from Baker Tom in Wadebridge twice a week so prepare yourself for yummy croissants, pain au chocolats, sourdough loaves and burger buns! We have a fantastic range of local goodies– from Treleavens ice cream, Popti Bakehouse crackers, Trewithen Milk and clotted cream to Cornish Ales and Ciders. We also have homemade ready meals by Fees Deli so that’s one less thing to think about!

Is the property close to family-friendly beaches?

The great thing about Glynn Barton is not only that there is so much to do onsite, you’re also perfectly positioned to take full advantage of absolutely everything Cornwall has to offer – especially the beaches! Our favourite is Daymer Bay, (40-minute drive) with lots of rock pools for crabbing. Others include Rock (37-minute drive) and Polzeath (39-minute drive) on the North Coast and Polkerris (28-minute drive) and Porthluney Cove (47-minute drive) at Caerhays Castle on the South Coast. There’s a map and book in the Play Room with descriptions of all the beaches in Cornwall so have a good read through and if you need a recommendation, just ask us!

Is everything within walking distance of the cottages?

Absolutely – everything is on-site within easy walking distance.

Are there sports facilities like tennis courts or football?

It’s a bold claim but we think we’ve got the most serene tennis court…ever!  Surrounded by rolling Cornish countryside, with views across Bodmin and the sound of our bleating goats on the sidelines, it’s a beautiful spot to have a little knock about. We also have a mini outdoor football pitch, as well as table tennis, a small archery range, a giant life-sized chess board and table football for some family-friendly competition!

So! Hopefully this helps answer any of the curiosities of what’s on-site before booking or staying with us – as always, if you have any other questions, please do get in touch by calling us on 01208 821104 or email stay@glynnbarton.co.uk
