5 Fab Things to Do This Halloween Near Glynn Barton

It’s no secret that we blooming LOVE Halloween here at Glynn Barton, and we know you’ll love it too.  As well as all the spooktacular fun right here on-site, there’s stacks going on nearby.  We’ve rounded up our fab five favourite things to get your Halloween groove going this half term and they’re all super close by.  Let’s go!

  1. Pumpkin Fest at Strawberry Fields Farm Shop

What’s Halloween without the perfect pumpkin? Head over to Strawberry Fields Farm Shop – just a short drive from Glynn Barton – and enjoy a fun-filled pumpkin-picking experience. There are thousands of home grown pumpkins to choose from and the fun doesn’t stop when you find your perfect pumpkin match.  There are scarecrows galore, marshmallow roasting pits, a barrel train, magic shows and so much more.  And yes mums and dads, there’s a food barn and pumpkin bar so you’re all set!

  1. Bodmin Jail – Spooky Tours 

We’re so ready for the ghostly goings on at Bodmin Jail this October, this eerie former prison is definitely one for the brave! Wander through the haunted cells and discover the dark history behind the jail’s infamous inmates. For older kids and thrill-seeking adults, the haunted tours after dark are bound to send shivers down your spine. Definitely a haunting experience to remember!

  1. Halloweden at the Eden Project

The Eden Project’s Halloweden event is a highlight of the season and an absolute must-visit. This year’s Halloween theme is packed with fun and spooky activities for all ages. Get up close and cuddly with some fantastic mini-beasts or head for the biomes to find some incredible mega-beasts! And of course the glittery ice rink is back for another year.  The stunning setting of the Eden Project makes it the perfect spot for a day out with the family, and there’s plenty of indoor fun in case the weather turns chilly.

  1. Cornish Maize Maze at Pillaton

Looking for a challenge? The Cornish Maize Maze at Pillaton is a great outdoor adventure for families this Halloween. Get lost in the spooky twists and turns of the maize maze, do you dare go in after dark? There’s plenty of room for kids to run wild, pumpkin picking and the maze has been given a spooky Halloween makeover to get everyone in the festive spirit. Once you’ve conquered the maze, there’s also a lovely café on-site for a well-earned treat.

  1. Gruffalo Party Trail at Cardinham Woods

The Gruffalo is 25 (nope, we don’t believe it either)!! And there is a super new way to celebrate at Cardinham Woods – right on our doorstep – with the Gruffalo Party Trail. Wind your way through the deliciously dense woodland, solving puzzles and partying in style with our favourite purple prickle covered beastie.  Based on the popular children’s book, this trail is perfect for younger kids who want to explore nature and get into the spooky spirit.  Dress up in your favourite Halloween costumes and enjoy the fresh autumn air as you follow the trail.

While there’s plenty to explore off-site, Halloween at Glynn Barton itself is packed with spooky delights! If you’re here this half term, please do come and get stuck into our pumpkin carving, spooky bingo and pin the spider on the web, there really is something for everyone.  And whatever you do, don’t forget your fancy dress costume, our annual competition is legendary! We’ll round it all off in grand Glynn Barton style with hot chocolate and marshmallows by the bonfire when the sun goes down too.
