Planning a Glamping break at Glynn Barton is a chance to slow down and enjoy the outdoors in comfort – but it’s normal to have a few questions before you arrive. From what’s provided in your Glamping accommodation, to arrival information, packing tips, and what there is to do on site – this guide covers the most frequently asked questions. Everything you need to know is in one place, so you can feel relaxed and ready for your Glamping stay.
What do we need to bring for a glamping stay?
At Glynn Barton, you don’t need to bring much at all as the lodges are fully equipped for a comfortable stay. All bed linen, duvets and towels are provided, along with a fully fitted kitchen that includes a fridge/freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher and even a Nespresso machine, plus all the crockery and utensils you’ll need. You’ll also have cosy blankets, hot water bottles and everything you need to relax inside, including a Smart TV and WiFi. You may just want to bring food, drinks, outdoor clothing and swim towels (or hire them on-site), along with anything extra you like for a home-from-home stay. Find out more here.
Are the glamping units heated?
All our glamping tents have wood log burners to keep you warm on chillier evenings, with hot water bottles provided if you’d like a little extra comfort at bedtime.
How far are the toilets and showers?
All glamps have fully fitted bathrooms complete with a bath, shower, sink, heated towel rail, loo roll, soap and flushing toilet – so there’s no need to walk anywhere to freshen up during your stay
Is Bedding provided?
Absolutely! We provide 10.5 tog duvets and all bed linen, as well as cosy blankets to snuggle down under. We also have hot water bottles to keep you warm, whatever the weather! All our Glamps are feather-free!
Can we cook at the glamping pitches?
Each glamping lodge has been designed with family cooking and dining in mind. The kitchen is fully fitted with a large fridge/freezer, sink, hob, oven, dishwasher (yes that’s right!), Nespresso machine and all the crockery you could possibly need! There is also a firepit/BBQ off the deck for cooking up something delicious alfresco-style. There is also a large family kitchen table inside as well as an area for outdoor dining on the deck.
What activities are available for children if it’s raining?
Rain never stops play here at Glynn Barton! As well as our on-site indoor heated swimming pool and soft play area, we also have a play barn that’s overflowing with toys for all ages, puzzles, books and table football. We also have a sheltered mini archery range and table tennis area for you to make the most of family time on rainy days. You can find out more about all our facilities here.
Is there WiFi and entertainment available?
Yes – we offer WiFi (fibre broadband) across our Glamping lodges, as well as a smart TV for entertainment. Please note that while we aim to provide a high-speed service to all our guests, we are in a rural area which can affect performance, and encourage reasonable use from all guests.
Are the Glamps and facilities accessible for pushchairs or people with limited mobility?
The glamping accommodation is designed to be relatively accessible, Oak & Willow have all rooms on one level and no internal steps once inside the tent. Beech & Hazel have the bedrooms and living area on the same level but have 2 internal steps down to the bathroom. However, access to the entrance is via a slate gravel path uphill (around 10 metres), followed by a deck with three steps up to the main entrance. The entrance itself is through a zip door with a 700mm width, and the interior floors are wooden decking with flat woven rugs. While the kitchen space is a little narrow, and there is limited room for two people at once, the bedroom furniture can be moved to help create more space if needed. The tents also feature good lighting throughout, including ceiling and wall lights as well as bedside lamps, and there are roll-up windows accessible from the outside for ventilation and ease of use. For further information, please read our Access Statement.
